The Marion County Sheriff’s Office is dedicated to providing 24-hour patrol coverage across 500 square miles, ensuring the safety, security, and well-being of our residents and visitors. Our highly trained deputies respond swiftly to emergencies and provide a wide range of essential services, including:

Emergency Response—Rapidly responding to urgent situations to protect lives and property.

Calls for Service—Addressing citizen concerns, assisting with disputes, and responding to incidents.

Escorts—Providing security escorts for businesses, events, and individuals as needed.

Traffic Enforcement—Promoting road safety through enforcement of traffic laws and accident response.

Residential Checks—Conducting security checks for residents who are away from home to deter criminal activity.

Chief Deputy

Captain Brock Decker

The Chief Deputy at the Marion County Sheriff’s Office in Missouri serves as the second-in-command, directly assisting the Sheriff in managing the department’s operations. This role encompasses a wide range of responsibilities, including supervising law enforcement personnel, overseeing daily activities, and ensuring that departmental policies and procedures are effectively implemented.

The Chief Deputy plays a crucial role in coordinating various divisions within the Sheriff’s Office, such as patrol, investigations, and administrative services. In the absence of the Sheriff, the Chief Deputy assumes the duties of the Sheriff, ensuring continuity in leadership and operations. Overall, the Chief Deputy’s role is integral to the efficient and effective functioning of the Sheriff’s Office, contributing significantly to maintaining law and order within Marion County.

Criminal Investigations

The Criminal Investigations Division (CID) is composed of trained investigators committed to solving cases and securing justice for victims. At any given time, the division manages multiple active investigations, ranging from violent crimes to property-related offenses, ensuring a thorough and relentless pursuit of justice.

This division specializes in multiple areas, including Crimes Against Persons, Property Crimes, Sex Offender Compliance, and Crime Scene Investigations. Each unit plays a critical role in uncovering the truth, holding offenders accountable, and protecting the community.
