About Your Sheriff

I am a lifelong resident of Marion County and take great pride in my roots within our community. My wife, Kacie Shinn, and I have built our family here, with our two children, Cole and Keatyn. Kacie is also a lifelong Marion County resident and a graduate of Columbia College with a Bachelor of Science in Business Management.

For the past 34 years, I have dedicated my career to law enforcement in Marion County, serving in various roles to protect and support our citizens. Being your Sheriff is both an honor and a responsibility that I take to heart every day.

My mission is simple: to serve all people with dignity, respect, and honesty. I believe in being a Sheriff for the people—accessible, responsive, and committed to making a difference. While I may not have all the answers, I know that by working together with the citizens of Marion County, we can create a safer and stronger community.

If there is ever a way I can assist you, please don’t hesitate to reach out—I am always here to help. Thank you for the privilege of serving as your Sheriff. It is an honor I deeply appreciate.
